GB fertiliser prices
Updated weekly
Important changes have been made from March 2026 to the way prices are reported on this page. Find out more below.
This survey aims to improve market transparency by publishing indicative GB average spot prices (in £/tonne) to help levy payers understand price trends for key fertiliser products.
The next update will be week commencing 6 April 2026.
Historically, the prices were produced on a monthly basis. From March 2026, the survey was expanded to also produce weekly prices in response to the conflict in the Middle East.

Additional information
Fertiliser prices are provided by a sample of merchants and grower groups who kindly share their information voluntarily with us.
Published prices are average spot prices (for delivery within one 28-day month) based on full loads of bagged products or liquid UAN delivered to farm, with standard 28‑day payment terms.
Prices reflect the exact product specifications listed above, including the specific nitrogen content. They exclude VAT but include all other margins.
* Imported Ammonium Nitrate prices may be based on product delivered to a range of UK sea ports
** Week-on-week change is based on average prices with all decimal places included. This means a change of -1 or +1 may be shown even where the rounded prices appear unchanged.
Weekly prices: Every Friday, the average spot prices are published for the previous Friday. These prices are simple, unweighted, average prices.
Monthly prices: In the first week of each month, the average spot prices are published for the previous month. These prices are simple, unweighted, averages of the weekly prices.
All these price series are designed to provide comprehensive historical records of the delivered to farm price for fertiliser. They are not designed to be used as a base for future contract prices. The decision of how to arrive at the price to pay for fertiliser is entirely a matter between the buyer and seller.
